What is your favorite memory of being part of UNCW’s Swimming & Diving program? Bus rides to away meets or Saturday morning practices at the beach
How has your experience as part of UNCW’s Swimming & Diving program impacted or influenced your life? The easy answer is that it has given me some of the best friends I could ever ask for. Along with that, it has given me structure. Like balancing school work with swimming, balancing work, home life, dad life, friendships, and athletic goals can be difficult at times. Swimming has consciously and unconsciously created a structured lifestyle that has allowed me to balance all of it.
What have you been up to since your days on the UNCW pool deck? I got my MBA from the University of Mississippi in 2012 and moved to Charlotte shortly thereafter, where I met my wife, Lauren. We got married in Wilmington in 2016 and had our first child, Tripp in October of 2018. We will welcome our second son, Miles in early June. When I’m not in the office, I’m fairly active in the local running scene, serving on the Board of Directors for Charlotte Running Club and the Finance Committee for a local non-profit, Let Me Run. I’ve run the New York City Marathon, the Charlotte Marathon, the Chicago Marathon, and have my sights set on qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
Favorite stomping grounds from your time at UNCW? Blue Water Grille, Flaming Amy’s, Jerry Allen’s……..and Red Dogs

Parting advice for current UNCW Swimmers and Divers and/or recent alumni? Be patient. Odds are, sometime after college, you’ll have a hard time finding your way both personally and professionally. No matter what others project, most 20-somethings will go through something similar. It is all very normal. Trust your gut, don’t be afraid to take risks, and always bet on yourself.
